How to Use the Tuner
- Tap Start Tuning and allow microphone access.
- Play or sing one note and hold it. The tuner shows the nearest note, its octave, the frequency, and how many cents sharp or flat it is.
- Tune up if the marker is left of center and down if it is right of center. The status changes to In tune when you stay within 3 cents.
For a guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, violin, viola, cello, or double bass, use the instrument and tuning pages linked under the tuner. They add a button for each string that locks the tuner to it and plays its note. The wind and brass pages explain what note to tune to, and on trumpet, clarinet, and saxophone they can show written pitch, the notes as they appear in your music.
